The team
Who picks what we publish.
The Top Finds is built by a small, distributed editorial team based out of Orem, UT, with contributing editors across the US. Here's who covers what — and the methodology that holds every section to the same bar.
Editorial coverage
Home & Kitchen
Cookware, small appliances, coffee gear, drinkware, bedding, decor, cleaning, and organization. Owns the largest share of our published reviews.
Beauty & Wellness
Skincare, haircare, makeup, fragrance, sleep, recovery, and personal-care wearables. Heavy long-term testing — most products are tried for at least four weeks before they're published.
Apparel, Shoes & Accessories
Everyday clothing, swimwear, sneakers, boots, bags, sunglasses, jewelry, and watches. The hardest section to get right — fit and feel can't be summarized from a spec sheet.
Tech & Outdoor
Headphones, wearables, smart-home, charging, audio, plus camping, hiking, and travel gear. Tested across real trips and long-haul flights, not unboxing videos.
Pets, Babies & Kids
Toys, gear, food, and accessories for the household members who can't write us a review. Reviews are vetted by editors who actually own pets or have small kids — not freelancers researching from a desk.
Food, Drinks, Books & Media
Pantry upgrades, coffee and tea, snacks, books, music, and film picks. Smaller catalog by design — only things we'd send a friend.
How we work
№ 01
We start with shoppers, not products
Every brief begins with the real query a shopper is trying to answer ("a good dutch oven that isn't $400"), not with a brand pitch. We map the field, then test against that brief.
№ 02
We use products before we publish
An editor either owns the product, has had it long enough to develop a real opinion, or has direct first-hand reporting from someone who has. We don't publish reviews based on spec sheets and press releases.
№ 03
We use AI as a tool, not a writer
We use AI to summarize specs, surface customer-review themes, draft outlines, and parse FAQs. Every word that ships under our byline has been edited and approved by a human. We never auto-publish.
№ 04
We update what we get wrong
If we get something wrong — a spec, a price, a take that aged poorly — we update the page and add a correction. If a product gets meaningfully worse over time, we delist it.
№ 05
We disclose how we make money
The Top Finds is reader-supported. When you buy through a link on our site, the retailer pays us a small affiliate commission. The price you pay is unchanged. Commission never decides what makes the cut.
